14 Months Old!

Brianna, you are 14 months old today!  I can't believe how quickly you are growing up.  You had a most exciting adventure earlier this week... On Sunday, June 12th, you took your first trip to the beach!  We went to Galveston Island for a few hours.  And let me tell you... you are FEARLESS.  You absolutely loved how the waves would surprise you and splash your face.  You were completely unphased by the saltiness of the water.  You had an interesting time making it through the sand but it didn't slow you down!  The funniest thing occurred when a couple from Palestine let their young son come over and play with us.  They thought you were absolutely ADORABLE and even took your picture!  You helped their littly boy get over his fear of the water, and once he saw you enjoying it so much, he decided to give the ocean a try!  As gratitude, they gave you two lollipops.  Yum! 

You have been into everything at the house!  We have the baby gate up so that's been helpful.  You are very much attached to Mommy and do not like me to be out of your sight!  However, you are quite fond of your Daddy and you will celebrate Father's Day with him and your grandpa this coming weekend!  I wonder what you will get Daddy for Father's Day...

You have been invited to Eden Frazier's birthday party!  I am sure you will have lots of fun meeting new friends and playing. 

Now that it's summer, you have a sprinkler day each Friday at school and Mommy and Daddy also take you to some water event over the weekend, whether it's the Splash Pad, your mini pool, or a nearby gym pool.  We want to make the most of the summer and hope you enjoy every minute of it! 

Lately you have been mimicking what we say and do.  Also, you call everything 'Ma-Ma'.  It doesn't matter if it's daddy, the cat, the dog...  it's Ma-Ma!  Grandma heard you whisper 'Uh-oh' the other day... and your daycare teachers say you talk a lot!  It won't be long before you are telling us everything.  You sign 'eat' at the dinner table so you are also picking up some sign language at school. 


Tomorrow we are off to Maryland!  You have always done great on planes, but this time you are much more mobile.  I hope you sit still long enough for a 3-hour plane ride but I know you can do it!

Bark bark!

Oh it’s been a long week… only one more day to go! Busy season has already started at work and the hours are starting to pick up. I’m hoping this busy season goes a lot smoother than last year. I’m still learning new things at this company, but it’s going okay so far. Tomorrow morning I have a client meeting for a new project then we are doing a team building event in Galveston. I’m looking forward to the Galveston event… haven’t been there in a while and we are touring an oil rig museum. Then we’ll have a happy hour with the team.

On another note, Brianna was bit on her arm by another child yesterday!!! Grrrrr… ticks me off but at the same time I know Bri could be the next child to do it to someone else’s baby so I tried not to freak out. She actually has bit me and Stephen several different times… not good! Today was better, however. Bri sure does get spoiled in the afternoons by her teachers… they just love showing her off to everyone. She is so bubbly that it’s fun watching her meet and interact with others. Tomorrow is another sprinkler day! Last week the teachers said Brianna had a blast in the sprinklers. She is my little water baby. They took pictures of her letting the water splash her in the face. It’s her favorite thing!

Last night Brianna started mimicking our dog when she barked. Tater would start barking and then Brianna would say ‘argh, argh, argh’! It was soooo cute!

Next week is a very exciting week! Stephen, Brianna, and I are going to visit my family in Maryland! Everyone is so excited about seeing Brianna. Oh and Jenny will be meeting us there! It is the first time in I don’t know how long that all my dad’s kids will be together with him on Father’s Day! It should be great fun. I can’t wait to see everyone and I can’t wait for all the great food haha!

Guess it’s off to bed for me now… so ready for the weekend!

What are we in for? LOL

Brianna, Brianna...  You are only 13 months old but you express your opinions well!  Stephen and I think we might have our hands full!  Today when we picked up Brianna from daycare, her teacher told us Brianna loves to play outside and hates having to come back inside.  In fact, lately she has started crying and today even ran from the teachers and they had to chase her!  LOL!  This already tells me our little girl is definitely independent and strong-minded!  Oh and she is a mommy's girl right now, and I'm okay with that, haha. 


But... she is still our sweetheart baby girl and has a tenderheat for her daddy... yesterday she patted Stephen's back because he was sick.  And tonight she went to sleep in his arms which is always one of his favorite moments.


Ahhh... she's growing up so fast.  Friday is a big day for her!  Brianna is attending 'Waterpark Day' at her daycare.. she is going to love it!  TGIF!
